• I believe it is always better to err on the side of simplicity.
• I believe in doing things in the slowest and calmest manner reasonable.
• I believe in being still and present in the now. Neither the past nor the future exist, there is only now.
• I believe that I am not in control of the world, or anything outside my own reasoned choice for that matter. That I am an NPC and peace is found through accepting that fact.
• I believe that I will die. And sooner than I might like. I need to be happy with the life I’ve lived every day.
• I believe in the value of play and enjoying every aspect of my life.
• I believe there is no self. I am simply a self-aware portion of the universe, and the entire universe is within me. Every action I take manifests myself, and everyone I have loved, and everyone who has ever influenced me. I cannot be alone because there is no me. And I must care for others as if I am caring for myself, because I am.
• I believe that the lightest touch can often have an unreasonably large impact and prevent unintended side effects.
• I believe in taking radical ownership over the aspect of my own personality and actions.
• I believe in the value of both confidence and humility.
• I believe in doing things the hard way and that the strenuous life is the best life.
• I believe in being authentically myself. In not being scared of what others think. And I believe I deserve to love and cherish myself in the ways I need. No one else will be able to until I can.
• I believe in not being governed by my fears.
• And most of all, I believe in my family (ohana). Those I’ve been born to, those I’ve found along the way, and those I’ve chosen. I believe in them and I will show it by asking them for support when I need it.
